NCERT Solutions for Class 1 Urdu Chapter 17: پیاری تتلی

"Pyaari Titli" (dear butterfly) is a poem about a butterfly. Butterflies are colourful and quick, and they are a favourite subject of children's verse. Children recite, imitate fluttering with their hands and talk about flowers, colours and gardens. The poem builds vocabulary of nature, movement and colour, and supports rhythm and memory. Children can draw and colour a butterfly, describing its wings, and learn that butterflies grow from caterpillars. The chapter also encourages gentleness towards small living things. This is chapter 17 of 18 in Shahnai, the Class 1 Urdu textbook, and begins on page 102 of the printed 2026-27 book. It follows "پھولی روٹی" and is followed by "اچھی چڑیا". Its form in the contents is: poem. Transliterated title: Pyaari Titli. Urdu textbooks at this stage share cultural values as well as language, and "پیاری تتلی" is an opportunity to do both. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are developed together, and the teacher's own clear, expressive reading is the most useful model. Short daily practice in tracing letters and copying neat lines helps with the shapes of the script. Families can help by listening to the child read, by sharing poems and stories from their own heritage and by praising effort. Listen to your child read "پیاری تتلی" aloud at home and ask what they understood. Point to words along the line from right to left, and help them trace letters carefully. Reciting poems to family members builds both pronunciation and confidence. This overview is written from the 2026-27 textbook's Contents page, its preface and the chapter title, to help families and teachers prepare. Please read the chapter itself for exact content, activities and exercises.
