NCERT Solutions for Class 3 Arts Chapter 19: Activities
"Activities" is a short chapter of theatre games and exercises that revisit and strengthen skills from earlier chapters, such as voice, movement, imagination and cooperation. Teachers can choose and adapt activities to the class, and the book stresses that activities are suggestions and can be changed according to resources and context. The chapter offers a flexible bank of ideas for warm-ups, role-play and storytelling games. Using it regularly helps children gain confidence in speaking, listening and performing in front of others. This is chapter 19 of 20 in Bansuri, the Class 3 Arts textbook, in the Theatre section, and begins on page 135 of the printed 2026-27 book. It follows "Look Around" and is followed by "Integrating All Art Forms". "Activities" is meant to be experienced, not just read. Teachers are encouraged to use the resources in the chapter's QR code, invite local artists or take children out to observe and listen. The book asks that periods allotted to arts are not used for other subjects, and that children are never compared with each other. Each child is encouraged to compete only with their own earlier work, and to enjoy the activity. Where possible, link "Activities" to local art and culture: a visit to a performance, a craft in the neighbourhood or a song from a grandparent. These experiences deepen the chapter and show that arts are a living part of community life. This overview is written from the 2026-27 textbook's Contents page, its preface and the chapter title, to help families and teachers prepare. Please read the chapter itself for exact content, activities and exercises.
