NCERT Solutions for Class 3 Arts Chapter 8: Travel Around

"Travel Around" uses the idea of journeys to explore songs from different parts of the country. The prelims say children will explore songs from various regions and sing them in several languages. Children listen to and sing songs that suggest places, people and ways of travelling, and may learn something about the languages and cultures behind them. The chapter builds listening skills, vocabulary, memory and appreciation of India's variety. Singing together in a group also develops confidence, cooperation and joy in shared music-making. This is chapter 8 of 20 in Bansuri, the Class 3 Arts textbook, in the Music section, and begins on page 58 of the printed 2026-27 book. It follows "Feel the Rhythm ta ka ta ki Ta" and is followed by "Musical Instruments". The activities in "Travel Around" are suggestions that teachers can select, adapt and extend. Children may work alone or in groups, and the book reminds teachers that diversity of expression is the beauty of childhood. Assessment tools in the book track growth in competence and skill over time. Families can help by providing simple materials, displaying the child's work and encouraging practice at home without criticism. Provide simple materials at home, such as paper, crayons, clay, leaves or household objects, and let your child explore without worrying about the result. Display their work and ask them to talk about what they made or performed in "Travel Around". Avoid comparing it with others' work. This overview is written from the 2026-27 textbook's Contents page, its preface and the chapter title, to help families and teachers prepare. Please read the chapter itself for exact content, activities and exercises.
