NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Physical Education and Well Being Chapter 7: Yoga Sadhana
"Yoga Sadhana" closes the book's units and is the final chapter of the book and the longest in Unit 3. It goes deeper into yogic practice, with a progression of asanas, breathing practices and relaxation, and encourages regular, mindful practice. Children are guided to pay attention to posture, balance and breath, and to practise safely and without competition. Teachers follow the session structure and annual plan given at the end of the book. Children can reflect on how they feel before and after practice and share simple practices with their families. This is chapter 7 of 7 in Khel Yoga, the Class 4 Physical Education and Well Being textbook, in Unit 3, Yoga, and begins on page 87 of the printed 2026-27 book. It is the final chapter, following "Yoga for Daily Life". The goals in "Yoga Sadhana" go beyond physical skill. The book links movement with socio-emotional learning: encouraging classmates, accepting mistakes, sharing equipment and handling both success and disappointment gracefully. Teachers are advised to give enough time at the end of the session for circle time, where children describe their experience and listen to others. Variations of each activity keep it interesting and allow adaptation to local space, weather and resources. Try a short family session based on "Yoga Sadhana". Let the child lead, explain the rules and show the movements. This turns learning into shared fun, and builds regular physical activity into the family routine. This overview is written from the 2026-27 textbook's Contents page, its preface and the chapter title, to help families and teachers prepare. Please read the chapter itself for exact content, activities and exercises.
