Chapter 1: خدا کی قدرت
"Khuda Ki Qudrat" (خدا کی قدرت) is a poem by Ismail Meerathi that opens Sitar for Class 5. The title, "God's creation" or "the power of God", suggests wonder at the natural world, a classic theme for children's poetry. Children recite with clear pronunciation, notice rhyme and imagery and talk about what in nature amazes them. The chapter supports memory, vocabulary of nature and reflection. Learning the poem by heart and reciting it with expression builds confidence at the start of the year.
This is chapter 1 of 13 in Sitar, the Class 5 Urdu textbook, and begins on page 1 of the printed 2026-27 book. It is the opening chapter and is followed by "تالاب کا بھوت". Its form in the contents is: poem, by Ismail Meerathi. Transliterated title: Khuda ki Qudrat.
In "خدا کی قدرت", the aims are fluent reading, clear pronunciation and understanding. Children can be asked to read a few lines aloud, explain what they understood, find new words and use them in a sentence of their own. The book links Urdu with art, environment, science and social science, so discussion can move beyond the text to the child's surroundings. Oral answers come before written ones, and children should not be hurried or discouraged by errors in spelling or script.
Make reading "خدا کی قدرت" a shared moment. Take turns reading lines, discuss unfamiliar words and look for them in newspapers or signs. Short, daily practice, with praise for effort, helps the script and the language settle.
