NCERT Solutions for Class 2 Urdu Chapter 6: کھیل کا میدان
"Khel Ka Maidaan" (the playground) is a story set at a sports ground. Playgrounds are where children learn teamwork, fairness and resilience, so the story gives scope to talk about games, rules and sportsmanship. Children describe their favourite games, how they play and what they learn from winning and losing. The chapter supports vocabulary of sports, comprehension and oral discussion. It links Urdu to physical well-being and values of cooperation. Children can draw their playground and write a sentence on a game they enjoy. This is chapter 6 of 19 in Shahnai, the Class 2 Urdu textbook, and begins on page 35 of the printed 2026-27 book. It follows "وقت کی قدر" and is followed by "برسات". Its form in the contents is: story. Transliterated title: Khel ka Maidaan. Urdu is written right to left in a cursive script, so reading and writing need regular, patient practice. With "کھیل کا میدان", teachers are advised to read the lesson aloud first, let children repeat with correct pronunciation, discuss the meaning of new words and then move to oral and written questions. Writing practice builds from letters to words to sentences. Poems are best learnt with rhythm and recited aloud, and children should be encouraged to love the sound of the language as much as its script. After "کھیل کا میدان", ask your child to tell you the story or the idea in their own words, and to write one or two neat sentences in Urdu script. Elders can add poems, sayings and stories from their own childhood, which strengthens the connection with the language. This overview is written from the 2026-27 textbook's Contents page, its preface and the chapter title, to help families and teachers prepare. Please read the chapter itself for exact content, activities and exercises.
