NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Urdu Chapter 2: چھپا خزانہ

"Chhupa Khazana" (چھپا خزانہ) is a folk tale, and at about thirteen pages it is a long chapter. The title, "the hidden treasure", suggests a search or a lesson about what is truly valuable. Folk tales pass down values and humour, and children enjoy following the clues. They retell the events in order, discuss the moral and learn vocabulary of treasure, search and surprise. The chapter supports comprehension and oral retelling, and role-play is an effective way to work with it. This is chapter 2 of 14 in Sitar, the Class 4 Urdu textbook, and begins on page 9 of the printed 2026-27 book. It follows "حمد" and is followed by "خاندانی شجرہ". Its form in the contents is: folk tale. Transliterated title: Chhupa Khazana. Urdu textbooks at this stage share cultural values as well as language, and "چھپا خزانہ" is an opportunity to do both. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are developed together, and the teacher's own clear, expressive reading is the most useful model. Short daily practice in tracing letters and copying neat lines helps with the shapes of the script. Families can help by listening to the child read, by sharing poems and stories from their own heritage and by praising effort. Listen to your child read "چھپا خزانہ" aloud at home and ask what they understood. Point to words along the line from right to left, and help them trace letters carefully. Reciting poems to family members builds both pronunciation and confidence. This overview is written from the 2026-27 textbook's Contents page, its preface and the chapter title, to help families and teachers prepare. Please read the chapter itself for exact content, activities and exercises.
