NCERT Solutions for Class 6 Arts Chapter 22: Assessment

"Assessment" is the final numbered section of the book. In a subject where the preface says students should enjoy exploration without stress, assessment is likely to be presented as a way of recognising growth through portfolios, observation, self-reflection and peer feedback rather than scores or comparison. The section probably gives teachers and students tools for reviewing work in the four art forms and setting goals. It reminds families that arts learning is about process, effort and expression, and that every child's way of creating is valued. This is chapter 22 of 22 in Kriti, the Class 6 Arts textbook, in the Closing sections (integration and assessment) section, and begins on page 161 of the printed 2026-27 book. It is the final chapter, following "Integration of All Art Forms". "Assessment" is meant to be experienced, not just read. Teachers are encouraged to use the resources in the chapter's QR code, invite local artists or take children out to observe and listen. The book asks that periods allotted to arts are not used for other subjects, and that children are never compared with each other. Each child is encouraged to compete only with their own earlier work, and to enjoy the activity. Where possible, link "Assessment" to local art and culture: a visit to a performance, a craft in the neighbourhood or a song from a grandparent. These experiences deepen the chapter and show that arts are a living part of community life. This overview is written from the 2026-27 textbook's Contents page, its preface and the chapter title, to help families and teachers prepare. Please read the chapter itself for exact content, activities and exercises.
