NCERT Solutions for Class 5 Urdu Chapter 9: ڈیجیٹل دادی

"Digital Dadi" (ڈیجیٹل دادی) is a story whose title, "digital grandmother", suggests a grandmother who learns to use technology. It reflects modern India and bridges generations, since children may often teach elders to use phones. Children read a lively, contemporary story, discuss how technology helps and what to be careful about, and think about patience between generations. The chapter, about fourteen pages, supports comprehension and vocabulary of devices. A read-only story on staying safe, "Apni Hifazat Aap", follows it. This is chapter 9 of 13 in Sitar, the Class 5 Urdu textbook, and begins on page 109 of the printed 2026-27 book. It follows "چار دوست" and is followed by "گنگا". Its form in the contents is: story. Transliterated title: Digital Dadi. Urdu is written right to left in a cursive script, so reading and writing need regular, patient practice. With "ڈیجیٹل دادی", teachers are advised to read the lesson aloud first, let children repeat with correct pronunciation, discuss the meaning of new words and then move to oral and written questions. Writing practice builds from letters to words to sentences. Poems are best learnt with rhythm and recited aloud, and children should be encouraged to love the sound of the language as much as its script. After "ڈیجیٹل دادی", ask your child to tell you the story or the idea in their own words, and to write one or two neat sentences in Urdu script. Elders can add poems, sayings and stories from their own childhood, which strengthens the connection with the language. This overview is written from the 2026-27 textbook's Contents page, its preface and the chapter title, to help families and teachers prepare. Please read the chapter itself for exact content, activities and exercises.
